Plywood for Concrete Formwork
Concrete Formwork Plywood is designed specifically for concrete construction. Made primarily from eucalyptus veneers and coated with a special paint on the surface, Concrete Formwork Plywood provides the structural strength required for general concrete pouring applications. This type of plywood is manufactured in China.
Traditionally, concrete formwork involved applying oil to the plywood to facilitate the removal of concrete from the mold. However, using U-Panel plywood eliminates the need for this oiling step, making the demolding process cleaner and increasing the number of times the formwork can be reused, thereby reducing costs. It has become a preferred choice for construction formwork today.
Applications
Concrete Formwork Plywood is a common material used at construction sites to provide the shaped mold for pouring concrete. It is also used as scaffolding boards on the exterior of buildings or as interior and exterior wall panels during concrete pours. To enhance the plywood's durability against outdoor weather conditions, a different amount of glue is typically used, resulting in better weather resistance and structural strength.
Concrete formwork plywood adheres to the national standard CNS 8057, which differs from the standards for "ordinary plywood," "special plywood," and "structural plywood" commonly used for interior buildings. The Bureau of Standards recommends that consumers choose "ordinary plywood," "special plywood," or "structural plywood" for indoor construction projects and ensure that these products are properly labeled for their intended use.
