Production Areas and Distribution
Bangkirai is distributed from Sri Lanka and India to Malaysia, Borneo, the Philippines, and the Moluccas. The main import regions are the Philippines, Sabah, Sarawak, and Indonesia. The wood has high product stability and a smooth texture after planing.
Applications
Bangkirai is heavy and hard, sometimes exhibiting a waxy sheen when cut with a blade. Bangkirai has strong resistance to termites and good durability when in contact with the ground. Bangkirai is suitable for indoor and outdoor flooring, as well as terraces.
