Yellow Cedar, also known as North American Yellow Cypress, Pacific Coast Yellow Cedar, Yellow Cedar, and Nootka Cypress, is a naturally decay-resistant wood. It is favored for its fresh fragrance and superior strength.
Production Areas and Distribution
Yellow Cedar is primarily found along the Pacific coast of North America. Its range extends from southeastern Alaska through British Columbia in Canada, and down into the Pacific Northwest of the United States, including Washington and Oregon. This species thrives in the cool, moist climate of coastal regions and the lower elevations of inland mountains.
