Species Introduction

European Red Pine, also known as European Redwood, has a texture similar to American Yellow Pine but with finer grain. It boasts excellent structural strength and processing properties, making it suitable for wood structural materials, interior decoration materials, solid wood furniture components, and woodworking DIY materials.

Production Areas and Distribution

European Red Pine, also known as Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), originates from northern Europe, particularly Finland and Sweden.The wood is typically harvested after approximately 80-100 years. It features fine and dense growth rings, with a hard texture and a density of up to 510 kg/m3. The heartwood is distinctly orange-red to brownish, while the sapwood tends to be lighter yellowish in color. It grows to a larger diameter, has fine growth rings, and offers moderate hardness, with a specific gravity ranging from 0.5 to 0.55.

Applications

European Red Pine, also known as Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), possesses excellent structural strength and processing characteristics. Depending on its application, it can be used as wood structural materials, interior decoration materials, solid wood furniture components, and woodworking DIY materials. Moreover, it can be processed into finger-jointed panels, decorative moldings, tongue and groove wall panels, flooring, and other products.
